Your website now needs to work for people, search engines and AI tools that retrieve, summarise and recommend information.
AI Site ModerniserChanging discovery
Discovery is no longer only about referrals and Google
Financial advice businesses have traditionally been found through word of mouth, referrals, local networks and Google searches. Those channels still matter, but discovery is changing.

People now use a wider mix of search engines, review platforms, maps, social media and AI tools to research businesses. They may ask questions about what advice they need, what risks to consider and which advisers appear credible.
IAB New Zealand reported that 69.2% of respondents use search engines often or always before a purchase, while 42.4% sometimes ask a chatbot first.

What we check
Older websites can be harder to retrieve, interpret and recommend
Many advice websites were designed primarily for visual appeal and basic search engine optimisation. Modern discovery also depends on clear structure, specific content, useful headings and information that can be understood, extracted and referenced.
- Clear service pages with specific plain language content
- Useful headings that describe what each section is about
- Self contained answers to common customer questions
- Accessible content that is not buried in images, sliders or PDFs
- Consistent business information across important pages and listings
